<p><b>CHICAGO, IL. – (May 11, 2010) – </b>BPG Properties, Ltd. (BPG), one of the nation’s leading private equity real estate fund managers, announced that The 580 Building in Cincinnati, OH has won the North Central Regional Competition for the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) 2009-2010 The Office Building of the Year “TOBY”, which included entries from Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan in the Renovated Building Category. The 550,000 square foot, Class A office and retail property was originally selected as the winner for the Greater Cincinnati local area last year and now will compete for the same distinction at BOMA’s international competition. </p> <p>“We are delighted with BOMA’s recognition of The 580 Building as exemplifying outstanding quality and service,” commented Brian Dovalovsky, asset manager in charge of overseeing the property for BPG. “We are committed to providing an exceptional tenant experience at The 580 Building.” </p> <p>In order to be considered for the prestigious TOBY Award, The 580 Building underwent a detailed building inspection, provided summaries of its operations, tenant relations programs, involvement in the community, emergency evacuation procedures, and more to a panel of judges who are experts in the commercial real estate industry. </p> <p>BPG works closely with Cassidy Turley, the property management firm for the center, to continually improve the sustainability and energy performance of the building. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) recently recognized that effort by awarding The 580 Building an ENERGY STAR rating for the third year in a row and joining the ranks of the top 25 percent of commercial and industrial facilities in the country for energy performance. </p> <p>The building is located on the southeast corner of Walnut and Sixth Streets near Fountain Square, the center of Cincinnati’s Central Business District. Built in 1974, The 580 Building is centrally located along the Cincinnati Skywalk System, providing a covered, above ground system of bridges and passageways linking major buildings throughout the city. The building offers a five-level parking structure with 409 spaces and has an additional surface parking lot available two blocks north. </p> <p>Since purchasing the property in 2003, BPG has invested over $15 million to reposition the property and create a new identity including lobby and retail renovation, elevator cab improvements and HVAC upgrades.
